Ozark graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in finance. He went on to receive his master’s degree from Lakeland College. After college, Ozark joined the banking industry as a credit analyst. He worked in many capacities of the industry including: underwriting, business loans and financial modeling. He transitioned to lending for commercial business where he originated for 14 years before he shifted into residential lending.
Ozark compares lending to solving a puzzle. The originator has to work on putting all of the pieces together such as the borrower’s credit score, finances and loan program in order to solve and accomplish a transaction. With a strategic background, this has become intuitive for him.
To expand his presence in Wisconsin, Ozark has been working with Cox to develop a muli-tiered marketing plan that incorporates online branding, mailers, face-to-face meetings with Realtors and FSBO (For Sale By Owner) campaigns.
“Scott Ozark is a great addition to the Appleton branch. His extensive knowledge on different loan programs and diverse business background will be a true asset to GSF. Scott is going to focus on helping first time homebuyers get into the home they always wanted, even if they have been told no in the past. His goal is to help every home buyer in the Fox Valley find their own path to closing. I'm looking forward to seeing what Scott will do over his career at GSF,” says Branch Manager, Mike Cox.
