WASHINGTON - March 18, 2014 - PRLog -- What happens when you have a dream and no idea of how to bring it to fruition? That's a rhetorical question of course because we already know the answer. You find a crowd sourcing or crowd funding site to help you.

That's just what happened in the case of Comedian Vince Barnett. Barnett has a dream of following in the steps of Bill Cosby his childhood idol. When he embarked on his career as a stand-up comedian he had no idea he would also start developing comedic illustrated stories to go along with his comedy performances on stage. "I'm always looking to give the audience more, days after the show I want them to think back about something I said or did on stage".

What better way to achieve this than by leaving an indelible mark in the minds of his audiences with story-time and illustrative jokes? His first illustrative adaptation was "What Type Of B" Is She"? He created his first book  as a way to joke about his ex-wife. He made a solemn oath to never speak ill about his ex-wife in his comedy routine but that did not stop him from writing a tongue and cheek book based on his experiences while married. Audiences loved the creativity and interactive story time during his performance. The success of his first release led him to create the illustrations for "Tales of The Africanus Americanus Black-Manus". This was one of Barnett's more popular on stage jokes in which he pokes fun at his own experiences living in a predominantly white neighborhood. "It easy to translate my jokes into illustrations because I actually lived and experienced them first hand".

One day while sitting home watching a episode of Bill Cosby's Fat Albert he had the idea to not only  illustrate but to animate the concept for a bit he was working on. Unlike the other illustrations he had created this bit would never make it to the stage to be tested on a live audience first. Barnett forged ahead anyway because he knew he had something special on his hands. "Everyone that heard about it was anxious to either see the illustrations or hear the story about the Commuters". The Commuters is another story that is loosely based on the experiences Barnett and his co-workers encounter on their daily commutes to work in the DC Metro area.

His first illustration for "The Commuters" deals with the challenges faced with driving in HOV lanes. "It's hilarious, everyone can relate to nightmare commuting stories".   As fate would have it Barnett would run into a major road block. No pun intended!  It's substantially cheaper to develop a illustration than it is to develop a full blown animation. Barnett spent more to develop "The Commuters" illustration alone than "What Type of B Is She" and "The Africanus Americanus Black-Manus" combined. He was literally at a dead end until a friend mentioned Indiegogo as a potential source to raise the funding to complete his project.

Barnett just started the campaign so he does not know if he'll reach his goal or not. "I'm thankful there are sites out there like Indiegogo to help creative artist reach their goals when finances become an issue. if nothing else it's given me hope.

If you'd like to contribute to the campaign of Vince Barnett  just got to the http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-commuters/x/6701511#share and show your support for this very talented comedian.
