PRLog - Mar. 17, 2014 - WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Stellar Award Winner Phillip Carter Releases New Single titled, A Friend Unfailing with his group Sounds of Victory (SOV). A Friend Unfailing is gaining major steam since its release and the album is in its final production for a release this summer.

Stellar Award Winner Phillip Carter has rapidly risen to national and international acclaim status as a gifted and anointed gospel recording artist, prolific songwriter, accomplished musician, talented producer, and noted workshop facilitator.  He and his group, Sounds of Victory (SOV), are the 2010 Stellar Award Winner for Fan Favorite Choir of the Year.  He also produced the 2010 Stellar Award Winner for Children’s Performance of the Year, “Amazing” by Dr. Emory Andrews and the Oxon Hill High School Gospel Choir.

In 2010, Mr. Carter teamed with Stellar Award Winner, Minister Earl Bynum, and founded the Annual Independent Gospel Artists Alliance Conference, a business conference focusing on the needs of Independent Gospel, Christian, and Inspirational Artists to help them manage their business, their career, and their music.

Phillip Carter & SOV will be conducting a Live DVD Recording featuring Darnell Moore & Co., Pastor Antoine Hutchings & The Christian Unity Mass Choir along with Brother Anthony Slaton. The Live recording will take place on April 26, 2014,  5:00 p.m. at Queen’s Chapel UMC, 7410 Old Muirkirk, Rd., Beltsville, MD 20705

Phillip Carter

A native of Fort Washington, Maryland, Mr. Carter began playing the piano at 18 months of age, and began directing choirs when he was nine. He served as the Director of the Bowie State University Gospel Choir, the Assistant Director of the Howard University Gospel Choir, and is the current Director of the Georgetown University Choir.  Mr. Carter has touched the lives of many young people as a music and choral teacher as well as a mentor at public schools in Washington, D.C., Prince George’s County, Maryland, and Fairfax County, Virginia where he currently teaches Music and Computer Technology.

In 1997, Mr. Carter organized his group, The Sounds of Victory. Now in their 17th year, Phillip Carter and SOV have traveled across the United States and the world spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through song.

Mr. Carter serves as the President/CEO of SOV, Inc., a Maryland-based arts and entertainment company that includes music label Sounds of Victory Ministries, Philco Studios, and Philco Publishing.  He's married to wife, Stephanie, and has two wonderful sons: Stephen and Thomas.
