PRLog - Mar. 17, 2014 - HENGELO, Netherlands -- Sintecs announces the industry’s first System-on-Module (SOM) based on the Freescale™ QorIQ™ T1 & T2 family of communication processors, built on Power Architecture® technology. For Sintecs, a “high-speed” system design services company, based in the Netherlands, the development of the embedded modules is the next step to relieve our clients.

With our developed SOM, our clients can shorten Time-to-Market, reduces development costs and lower their design risk.

With the SiMC-T10x and SiMCT20x modules, Sintecs delivers a comprehensive range of modules supporting Freescale QorIQ™ T1020, T1022, T1040, T1042 and T2081 processors. Based on the same SOM form-factor, these pin compatible & exchangeable modules provide maximum flexibility. The SiMC-T10x features the Freescale QorIQ™ T1 family of communication processors with two or  four cores up to 1.4 GHz and integrated GbE switch option.

The SiMCT20x features the Freescale QorIQ™ T2 family of communication processors with four dual threaded cores up to 1.8 GHz and implements the Freescale AltiVec technology-based SIMD engine, dramatically boosting the performance of media and networking algorithms, offering native inline programming and using less power than a separate DSP. All modules feature the Data Path Acceleration Architecture (DPAA), an innovative multi-core infrastructure for scheduling work to cores (physical and virtual), hardware accelerators and network interfaces.

The Sintecs SiMC-T10x module is ideally suited for use in low power, mixed control and data plane applications such as fixed routers, switches, internet access devices, firewall and other packet filtering applications, as well as general purpose embedded computing. The Sintecs SiMC-T20x module is targeted towards use in mid-range control plane applications or mixed control and data plane applications such as enterprise equipment, routers, wireless infrastructure, aerospace & defense and industrial computing.

These new series of modules provide an excellent base for quick, reliable, secure and efficient networking by means of interfaces such as 8x SERDES (up-to 10 GHz), TDM, SATA 2.0, 10Gbit XFI, 3.125Gbps SGMII, RGMII, Gen 3.0 PCI Express Controllers up to 8Gbps. In addition, the modules support 8+Gbit NAND flash memory, 256 Mbit NOR Flash memory and up to 8 GB of DDR3 SDRAM at 2133 MT/s.
