Every coffeehouse has its own personality .In contrast to today’s rather mundane spawn of coffeehouse chains Harold’s is filled with Bohemians and artist. It’s the unofficial living room for Northwood fueling great art, good conversation, and synergy in the tradition of the original coffeehouses. Local artist Caron Bowman & Kianga Jinaki will be unveiling their most recent artworks in a vibrant exhibition at Harold’s. The heterogeneous shapes and mediums of their work challenges conventional ideas of art. At the show, Caron Bowman will be exhibiting fiber, pastel, and acrylic works inspired by Native American and African textiles. Kianga Jinaki will be presenting collage story quilts utilizing African prints and beads. During the reception on March 22,2014 at 6:00 pm, we will show the Documentary film "Against All Odds". A documentary on the struggles of African American artist in the 1920s and 1930s during the Harlem Renaissance. The exhibition is currently on display from March 5 to April 2, 2014. The reception will be held March 22, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm Admission is free.

This year, she was a featured artist in the Wynwood Miami Mix Art Fair. She was selected by Bombay Sapphire Corporation /Russell and Danny Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Art Foundation to be included in the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series.
