Season 3 Filming, Personal Appearances Lead March Lineup for TV’s Geoff Notkin

TUCSON, Ariz. - March 14, 2014 - PRLog -- After three successful seasons as star of the hit Science Channel series Meteorite Men, science celebrity Geoff Notkin has stepped into a new role as host of the educational TV show The STEM Journals.  This month, Notkin is filming Season 3 of the award-winning program, as well as making a series of personal appearances across Arizona.

Location filming for Season 3 of The STEM Journals began with an exhilarating skiing adventure in Colorado as part of an upcoming episode devoted to the science of Extreme Sports.  Other Season 3 topics include nanotechnology, atmospheric sciences, social insects and more.

The new season of The STEM Journals is set to begin airing on Sunday, April 13.  In the meantime, full versions of earlier episodes are available online at www.cox7.com/stem-journals. The program is designed to entertain and inform both children and adults about the latest happenings in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

The STEM Journals airs every Sunday at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., and Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Cox channels 7 and 1007 in Arizona.  It can also be seen on DEMAND in the FreeZone on Cox Cable, on the Cox7 app for iOS and Android, on the Roku® streaming box, and worldwide at www.cox7.com.

On Saturday, March 9, Notkin was the special guest as Cox Creative Studies hosted a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The STEM Journals.  Fans of the show took part in several mock filming sessions with Geoff, where they served as camera operators, directors, producers, editors, and even on-camera interviewers.  The event highlighted the science and technology that fuels The STEM Journals and Cox telecommunications services.

·          On Friday, March 14, the Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa is hosting “Speed Dating with Scientists” as part of its “Wine, Oh Dino” event from 6-10 p.m.  Notkin will join neuroscientists Stephen L. ·          On Sunday, March 16, Notkin is set to appear in Science City at the Tucson Festival of Books, where he will give a presentation on “The Science of Meteorite Hunting” beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Following the presentation and Q&A session, Geoff will sign copies of his two books, Meteorite Hunting: How to Find Treasure from Space (an Ippy Award winner), and Rock Star: Adventures of a Meteorite Man.  The two-day Festival of Books is expected to attract more than 100,00 visitors.  For complete details, visit http://tucsonfestivalofbooks.org.
