As well as undertaking a six-month campaign to use social media channels to engage UK companies looking to export abroad to consider Japan and sign up to the Export to Japan website to gain more information and details on the business opportunities available, Lab will also be updating the Export to Japan website, which is built on Drupal.
Export to Japan is an initiative led by UK Department of Trade and Industry Japan (UKTI) and the British Embassy Tokyo, along with British Airways and the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan, which provides regular and up-to-date information about the Japanese market from specialists who know Japan and what it offers companies. This includes information on the latest market opportunities, advice on doing business in Japan, videos, podcasts, insights, and company success stories.
“We are delighted to have selected Lab to help us deliver the engagement and growth we need from digital channels,” said Sue Kinoshita, head of UKTI, British Embassy Tokyo. “They really understood our brief in terms of our wish to significantly increase conversions and traffic, and create digital buzz around the Export to Japan website for the campaign period and beyond. They also have staff who have lived and worked in Japan, and understand what UK companies are looking for when investigating whether they want to export there.”
Kinoshita continued, “There are huge opportunities for UK companies in Japan in the areas of consumer services, technology, life sciences, manufacturing, energy, defence and security, and Olympics 2020. Companies working in these areas with ambitions to grow abroad should visit the Export to Japan website and sign up for more information.”
Anna Ferenczy, head of digital marketing, Lab, said, “There has been a close relationship between the UK and Japan since 1613, and there is a large amount of activity happening on both sides right now to promote UK-Japan trade. There really has never been a better time for UK businesses to invest in Japan, and the Export to Japan initiative will have a major role to play.”
Ferenczy continued, “As a digital agency, we are passionate about helping businesses to grow, and we are absolutely delighted to have been chosen to help spearhead the Export to Japan initiative digitally to help UK companies learn more about doing business in Japan.”
