F.I.R.S.T. Institute and the FAFSA

ORLANDO, Fla. - March 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Demand in the digital media industries for experienced professionals with solid technical skills has never been higher. At the Florida Institute of Recording, Sound and Technology, ( www.first.edu ) we believe that all students should have the opportunity to gain those experiences and skills in a positive, hands-on environment, regardless of financial need.

If you have the energy and determination to succeed in the digital media industry, we want to help get the training you need to launch your career. The team here at the Institute will help you directly to plan your financial aid strategy, and we are excited to announce that our students may now apply for federal financial assistance with the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Federal Stafford Loans and the Federal Parent PLUS Loans are the two options to finance a F.I.R.S.T. Institute education, and filing the FAFSA will help you understand your eligibility for both.

In our intensive, specialized courses, students have direct access not only to the latest technology, but also to a faculty composed of expert industry professionals. Our instructors have worked with organizations like Orlando Magic, Fox Television, Universal Studios, Atlantic Records, Warner Brothers, EMI, and the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as supporting recording artists across genres. Graduates of F.I.R.S.T. Institute are directors, producers, engineers, and technicians in all levels of the film production industry and audio engineering industries.

The Audio Engineering and Music Production Program at the Institute introduces students to  techniques and equipment used in the music industry worldwide. We begin with the basics, and by the end of the program, every student participates in several hands on projects to develop their skills and practice real-world applications of their knowledge.

The Film and Video Production Program familiarizes students with the complete process of developing video work, from pre-production to visual effects. All students will complete a series of short projects to put their skills into action and develop their own styles.

By making federal student aid available to our students through the FAFSA, F.I.R.S.T. Institute hopes to encourage those aspiring to start careers in digital media to invest in themselves and their passion. We want to help you get there.
