A Taste of Indian: history in each dish

March 14, 2014 - PRLog -- The food of India, like the food of many other nations, has been influenced by the country’s history of foreign invasions, trade relations, and colonialism. India is a large country of over 1.2 billion people, nearly three-dozen regions and a variety of soil types, climates, and religions. Each of these factors have shaped the foods that are most commonly associated with the south asian country. The people who populate the various regions within the country will prepare variants of national dishes using spices, herbs, vegetables, and fruit that are readily available in their own region.

In this feature story we will analyze and taste the history of India, how history has shapped the diets of Indians for centuries. We then hand-picked Indian recipes from websites such as food.com and the Food Network to help you complete an Indian dinner.Indian cuisine continues to grow and change to this day as India itself continues to evolve.
