Council Member Rafael Espinal To Serve As Brooklyn Budget Negotiator

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - March 13, 2014 - PRLog -- (Brooklyn, NY)- Council Member Rafael Espinal was elected by the Brooklyn Delegation to serve as the Brooklyn Budget Negotiator. “I am pleased to represent the interests of my borough as we gear up for Fiscal Year 2015 budget negotiations on matters of great importance to the $2.6 million residents of Brooklyn.”

The role of the budget negotiator is to negotiate the fine details of the city’s $75 billion budget with members of the Mayor’s office and the City Council. “With such a large budget for such a large city, it is crucial to accurately represent the policy and infrastructure needs of a diverse borough like Brooklyn.”

“I am grateful to my colleagues for entrusting in me this important responsibility. My goal is to ensure that the scarce resource of taxpayer dollars is invested conscientiously.”

Council Member Rafael Espinal represents North Brooklyn Communities of Bushwick, Cypress Hills, City-Line, East New York, Ocean Hill and Brownsville. Council Member Espinal also Chairs City Council Consumer Affairs Committee.
