Willumstad School of Business. Mr. Halloran has been a Senior Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University for more than nine years, teaching graduate-level classes including the MBA program with specialization in Health Services Administration courses offered to doctors and surgeons in area hospitals and GOAL classes; he is an active member of the Adelphi University Business Advisory Board. Mr. Halloran plans to develop the necessary infrastructure and build a program to streamline the process of applying for internships. “What I plan to develop is not only an internship program, but to build a mentoring program,” he emphasizes, “this will allows students to gain business experience along with the benefits of mentorship.” Mr. Halloran believes that having a formal internship program through the school will make the process measurable. On one hand, the school will be able to keep a record of the interns and their placements; on the other hand, developing a formal program will help monitor and evaluate the progress of the students throughout their internship period. He says, “We are not just looking for numbers, we will be screening placements and mentoring students before the internship to prepare them for challenging roles.” Mr. Halloran will primarily be meeting students on a one-to-one appointment basis.
