KANSAS CITY, Mo. - March 13, 2014 - PRLog -- New senior care options will soon be unveiled in the Northland, and for many older adults and their loved ones, that’s reason to celebrate. Wexford Place Assisted Living & Memory Support by Senior Star will showcase the brand-new community during two special events: an invitation-only ribbon cutting from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, and a public open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. The community, which includes 43 assisted living and 44 memory support residences, is located at 6460 N. Cosby Ave. in Kansas City, Mo., adjacent to the Wexford Place independent living community.

Second District Councilman Ed Ford of Kansas City, Mo., will join representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association – Heart of America chapter and Senior Star in giving remarks at 3:30 p.m. on April 2, immediately followed by the official ribbon cutting.

“We’ve been a part of the Kansas City area for the past 20 years, with Senior Star at     Wexford Place and Senior Star at Villa Ventura,” said Senior Star’s Chief Operating Officer Anja Rogers. “This new community, and the addition of much-needed assisted living and memory support for the area, represents our commitment to providing the best care and living options for Kansas City seniors.”

Senior Star expects to add more than 100 new associates in Kansas City as a result of the addition of the Wexford Place Assisted Living & Memory Support community, which welcomed its first residents in January 2014.
