Published mobile application which estimates state of motor oil and car engine

The Softomas P.E. company presented new mobile application which allows to estimate state and risks of engine-oil and car engine itself, based on results of the legendary oil-drop test. The app oriented on car-owners and specialists on diagnostics and repair of car engines.

To apply the app Check Car Engine, user must only have a white non-glossy paper, warm car engine, and mobile device with the app installed. Apply a drop of oil from the crankcase onto a piece of paper, wait 1-2 hours for the formation of oil stain, and simply shoot the resulted image with the Check Car Engine app. As a result you get detailed information about real state of the oil and about your car engine, and recommendations on diagnostics, repair, oil change, and mileage before next test.

Principles of the oil-drop test, which are known in different countries from the middle of XX century, are based on the fact that all significant characteristics of the engine-oil current state, and also most important markers of the state and risks of engine itself, are indicated in the image of oil stain. Such an image, named also “chromatographic test”, or “chromatogram”, is well-known for specialists, and cannot be simply interpreted visually by car owners. The app Check Car Engine solves this problem by automatic analysis the image and makes the oil-drop test, nowadays maybe the most reliable, available for daily use for wide audience for the first time ever.

The app now available in two free versions for Android and can be used on smartphones and tablets. Standard version, Check Car Engine, operates with one snapshot, evaluates 6 parameters of engine-oil and 7 characteristics for different subsystems of engine. Extended version, Check Car Engine Pro, takes additional back-light snapshot, evaluates 8 parameters of engine-oil and 8 characteristics for different subsystems of engine. Both versions generate recommendations on engine diagnostics and repair, oil change, and mileage before next test.

Interface of the both versions is similar, very user-friendly and self-documented, with inline system of help and explanation messages. Now only English version is available. Application is distributing worldwide without restrictions.
