WEST PLAINS, Mo. - March 12, 2014 - PRLog -- DCI West Plains received a Three-Star Award at the latest Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) Annual Meeting in 2013 in recognition of their excellent patient care measures related to anemia management, improved fistula rates, and KT/V.

“The care of the patient is the driving force of DCI and we strive to provide excellent care to each individual patient. Along with measuring patient satisfaction, we look at the objective data, such as lab tests and fistula rates, to understand the effectiveness of the treatment being delivered,” states Tony Warren, DCI West Plains Administrator.

DCI West Plains consistently receives high marks on annual patient satisfaction surveys conducted internally by DCI. In the 2012-2013 survey, patients scored DCI West Plains 80% with combined excellent and very good responses for the category of “Respect…the clinic staff treats you with respect and dignity”. In the category of “How you’re treated…the staff’s caring and concern, friendliness and kindness, the encouragement and support they provide”, the DCI West Plains team scored combined excellent and very good responses at 79.3%.

Tony Warren says, “In a continued effort to provide outstanding patient care, we welcome Nephrologist Dr. Grant Mathews as our new Medical Director.”

Dr. Mathews, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology, has recently joined the staff of DCI West Plains, and in the future, will be available to provide outpatient care and consultation to patients.

“As a non-profit entity, the core of DCI is to put the patient first, and I am excited to begin working within that paradigm along with the excellent staff at DCI West Plains,” says Dr. Mathews.

DCI’s clinic in West Plains was established in 1988, and presently offers in-center hemodialysis, as well as two forms of home dialysis.  DCI is a not-for-profit organization that provides care for patients in all phases of kidney failure.  It is presently the largest non-profit dialysis provider and third-largest provider of dialysis care in the U.S., with approximately 220 clinics in 28 states.
