Accomplished group of writers will be in Newport with a performance at Redwood Library on March 27 and a WhatsUpNewp tweet-up at Hotel Viking on March 26.

NEWPORT, R.I. - March 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Hotel Viking will welcome an award-winning group of published writers who have teamed together for a live reading series entitled "Living, Out Loud: Writers Riff on Love, Sweat & Fears".  Featuring speechwriter and essayist Robin E. Bernstein; two-time Emmy Award-winning essayist Iyna Bort Caruso; essayist and contributor to Newsday and The New York Times Claudia Gryvatz Copquin; Friars Club historian/head writer and essayist Barry Dougherty; and essayist and NY Times “Modern Love” writer Paula Ganzi Licata; the writersread personal essays which cover topics from food, travel, humor, lifestyle, love and more.  The group will be in Newport with a performance at Redwood Library on March 27 and a WhatsUpNewp tweet-up at Hotel Viking on March 26.  For details on the Living, Out Loud group visit www.facebook.com/LivingOutLoudEssays. “When we read about the groups live essay readings in New York, we wanted to make sure our guests and residents had an opportunity to experience their special event,” stated Marlen Scalzi, Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Viking, “This is a wonderful opportunity to meet accomplished writers and hear their personal stories.”

On Wednesday, March 26, the essayists will be guests at a WhatsUpNewp (@WhatsUpNewp) tweet-up, using hashtag #WhatsUpHV in the lounge at One Bellevue, the award-winning restaurant at Hotel Viking. Guests of the tweet-up, where Twitter users meet face-to-face to convert 140 character engagements into conversations, will get to chat with the writers, rediscover One Bellevue and have a chance to win an overnight stay at the hotel. On Thursday, March 27, the group will be at The Redwood Library & Athenaeum, walking distance from Hotel Viking. A wine and cheese reception will be held at 5:30 pm, followed by the talk at 6:00 pm.
