Mr. Dempo, receives the Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award India 2014

MUMBAI, India - March 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Shrinivas Dempo chairman of the Goa based corporate house of Dempo has been awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award 2014 – India, in an Asia-wide survey of enterprise owners. He has been recognised for his leadership of well- known widely held company listed on the BSE and the NSE, Goa Carbon Ltd, India’s second-largest petroleum coke calciner  which operates from plants in Central and Eastern India and Goa.

The award was handed over to Mr. Dempo at a glittering ceremony at New Delhi, by Mr. G. V. G. Krishnamurthy, former Chief Election Commissioner, Government of India and attended by a galaxy of enterprise owners and Enterprise Asia officials, chief among whom was Mr William Ng, President, Enterprise Asia.

The increasingly prestigious annual Asia Pacific entrepreneurship awards are part of the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Programme (APEA), chosen by Enterprise Asia, a growing non-governmental organisation promoting enterprise development and responsible business across Asia, Australia and the Pacific.

Past APEA winners include enterprise owners Anil Khanna (Blue Dart), Ashank Desai (Mastek) and Phaneesh Moorthy (i-gate Patni) among others, all honoured for having demonstrated fairness, pursued sustainability and created investor and stakeholder value in their businesses at a relatively young age.

The judging process takes in an audit that looks at over 20000 enterprises the focus to a short list of names for ultimate choice, none from the same industry or sector.
