Harvest for Hunger Food Drive!

CLEVELAND - March 11, 2014 - PRLog -- The time of year is here again! Join to Brach Group to support the Cleveland Community! The 2014 Campaign has kicked off through March 30, donations of only $1 can feed an entire family of 4! The Brach Group has made it their personal goal to donate at least 200 food items to do their part. This year’s goal of Harvest for Hunger is to raise enough for 17 million meals!

What is harvest for Hunger?

Harvest for Hunger is an annual campaign aimed at fighting hunger in 21 of Ohio's counties. It is a joint effort of the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.

Why donate?

·         1 in 6 Ohioans struggles to put food on the table. For children, that number is more dismal at 1 in 4 children are at risk of going hungry in Ohio.

·         In late 2013, $193 million in benefits were cut in Ohio. This has left a significant gap in the incomes of many Ohio families which will lead them to need even more assistance from local food banks. This means a staggering 1.8 million people in Ohio alone that will see decreased or a loss of benefits this year.

·         All too often, those served by the Harvest for Hunger campaign have to choose between paying for food and paying for utilities such as heat, or getting the medicines they need to stay healthy.

Where do my donations go?

All donations (both monetary and food items) given through The Brach Group will be donated locally, to The Cleveland Food Bank.
