Innovative Medical Products’ Positioning Solutions Spotlighted at AAOS 2014 Annual Meeting

The exhibition will be held March 12-14, Booth #6349 at the Morial Conference Center.

IMP will introduce the De Mayo Push Button™ Clamp at the AAOS meeting. The new clamp significantly reduces OR set-up time as it is fastened to the operating table simply by squeezing its top and bottom jaws closed on the table’s rail and then tightened with a twist of the device’s knob. The clamp is quickly and easily removed by pushing the buttons on the device, lowering the bottom jaw of the clamp. The clamp, manufactured in three different configurations, can be used with the De Mayo Knee Positioner® and De Mayo Ankle Distractor™ systems.

Among the systems to be displayed: De Mayo Universal Distractor®, De Mayo Knee Positioner®, Tri-Pull™ Secure Shoulder Solution, De Mayo Hip Positioner®, Universal Lateral Positioner®, De Mayo Ankle Distractor™, and MorphBoard®.

Enabling the surgeon to fully control and maintain joint distraction, the De Mayo Universal Distractor® lets the surgeon see into the posterior regions of the joint. Used in conjunction with the distractor, the De Mayo Knee Positioner® allows precise control of flexation, extension, tilt and rotation of the knee during surgery.

The Tri-Pull™ Secure Shoulder Solution includes the De Mayo RoTractor®, the Reznik Universal Shoulder Positioner™ and the Phase4 Gel™ Splint that adheres to the patient’s skin to minimize shear forces like no other traction splint. These three proven systems confidently secure, distract and allow precise rotation control of the shoulder during surgical procedures without compromising the sterile field.

The De Mayo Hip Positioner® is a complete hip positioning system that securely holds very thin or very obese patients in the lateral position. For the latter patient, the positioner can be ‘built up’ around the patient so OR personnel don’t have to lift the patient on the posotioner, avoiding strenuous exertion and minimizing the risk of a work-related injury.

IMP’s Universal Lateral Positioner® is ideal for any surgery requiring the patient to be fixed in a stable, lateral decubitus position.

The De Mayo Ankle Distractor™ gives the surgeon a better approach to the surgical site while distracting the joint space to insert the surgical scope and instruments.

The MorphBoard® is a three-piece modular peg board that adjusts to accommodate obese patients, with optional locking pegs that will not jar loose during surgery.

IMP’S SuperBump™ is a sterile single-use bump, on top of the sterile field during knee surgeries, that eliminates the need for OR personnel to go under the surgical drapes for repositioning.
