InterPort Police was founded in 1969 by public safety agencies from the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. It was founded to assist its agencies that are members deal with global threats such as terrorism and transnational crime, all of them crimes that require cooperation and collaboration with a global network of public safety and security resources. InterPort Police was built with that foundation in place.

Today, the mission has become more critical than ever as borders become challenged not only by globalization but by criminals that continue to place countries’ National Security interests at risk on a daily basis.

The mission has also evolved into an intelligence sharing platform where organizations involved in airports, seaports, borders, oil pipes, airline industry, the cruise industry, supply chain, rail, maritime transportation, and other forms of public transportation require reliable intelligence to stay one step ahead of the criminal or the terrorist.

The mission has also evolved into activities with policy and agency leaders, national governments, intergovernmental organization and specialized associations. Secretary General Jay Grant is an expert in policy and spent most of his professional career in Capitol Hill.

In addition, our international awards and decoration programs recognizes law enforcement and public safety officers and officials who have distinguished themselves in fighting terrorism and serious transnational crime.

“It is an honor to have Mr. Ratkovich as my personal adviser from the private sector, with his extensive knowledge in investigations and matters of security.
