PHOENIX - March 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Independent national touring and recording artist Scott Helmer, who has opened for iconic acts such as Heart, Eddie Money, 3 Doors Down and Big Country, will now spend an entire year traveling more than 25,000 miles across America, performing 200+ concerts in venues ranging from elegant, vaudville-era historic theatres to saloons to RV parks and campgrounds to arenas to Harley-Davidson dealerships, all to help charities and nonprofits raise $1 million for their good causes within one year. The Support YOUR Cause Tour 2014-2015 kicks off May 15, 2014 and runs nonstop like a benevolent musical freight train until the final show on April 25, 2015 at the historic Calumet Theatre (MI).

First announced in November 2013, Helmer’s tour consists of the entertainer’s offer to all charities and nonprofits across America: Upbeat and energetic, solo-acoustic performances of his family-friendly brand of rock-n-roll and country music at their fundraising event free of charge. To date, more than 100 charities have taken advantage of Helmer’s offer and signed up. Good causes that will benefit range from the Kostopulos Dream Foundation in Salt Lake City, UT to the Historic Homestake Opera House in Lead, SD, from Second Harvest Community Food Bank in St. Joseph, MO to the Grand Auditorium in Ellsworth, ME. New dates and charities are being added each week and the entire schedule can be seen on Helmer’s tour page. In addition, Helmer’s entire adventure will be filmed for his new television show called What Are You Waiting For? that will not only document his tour and fundraising mission, but also share stories and feature the people and places that make America great. From companies to towns to individuals from all walks of life, Helmer’s show will spotlight those who have overcome adversity and are making a difference in people’s lives and communities.

A snapshot of Helmer’s last benefit tour ‘24 Nights – A Look Back’ can be viewed here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQBTUjWyN_s).

After making a huge mistake back in 2008 that cost him everything, including both his livelihood and his family, Helmer decided to not give up, hit the reset button on his life and created a new one based on three simple things; creating music, performing music, and helping others. Helmer will not handle any money or donations on behalf of organizations during his performances on the Support YOUR Cause Tour. “I am simply offering to perform at any fundraising event free of charge, to help them raise money and awareness for their cause,” he explained.

Helmer needs a few key ingredients to make this tour successful and is offering nearly a dozen different sponsorship opportunities that include one 'Presenting Sponsor (http://www.scotthelmer.com/pages/presenting-sponsor-benef...)' at the $125,000 level and ten 'Powered By”' (http://www.scotthelmer.com/pages/powered-by-sponsor-oppor...) Sponsors at the $5,000 level. The 'Presenting Sponsor' will underwrite or donate an RV while the 'Powered By' Sponsors will help supply items such as a sound system, fuel, equipment trailer and other basic touring gear.  “I will be on the road nonstop for over a year, in a new town each day, playing 5 to 6 concerts per week, and need a safe, reliable all-weather form of transportation. A rig such as the Fleetwood Excursion 33D, Thor Motor Coach Palazzo 33.2 or Tiffin Motorhomes Allegro Breeze 32BR would be the ultimate solution,” says Helmer.

The array of benefits and deliverables for companies who sign on as tour sponsors can be found at the 'Presenting Sponsor' information page (http://www.scotthelmer.com/pages/presenting-sponsor-benefits-deliverables) and the 'Powered By' Sponsor information page (http://www.scotthelmer.com/pages/powered-by-sponsor-opportunity). Helmer’s goal in working with any company is to create a highly customized sponsorship experience, collaboratively creating high-impact, non-cookie-cutter deliverables for each.   One unique benefit available to all sponsors is Helmer’s willingness to perform at all of their retail locations across America. Sponsors can turn these into fundraising events for their favorite charity or cause, further helping Helmer reach and exceed his $1 million goal.

Helmer’s no stranger to playing benefits and touring for good causes. In the past, he has played fundraising events for the Wounded Warrior Project, Operation Comfort, homeless and anti-violence shelters, toy drives, food banks and victims of the 2012 Colorado wildfires. The singer is also an enthusiastic volunteer for Musicians On Call, a program that brings the healing power of music to hospital patients and will continue his commitment to their efforts during this tour.
