PRLog - March 11, 2014 - BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Unlike traditional medical alert systems that require land line phone service and a base station, AlwaysConnected's Free To Roam Pendant is a self-contained wearable pendant with the microphone and speaker built right in. This allows for two-way voice communication between the wearer and emergency care specialists who are available 24/7.
Jay Wasack, President of AlwaysConnected says, “Many of our older clients are on the go. So the need for an alert pendant that can be used anywhere is more important than ever.“ Never before has there been a mobile unit which is so small (1.5in square / .5in thick) and light (1.2oz) that can even be worn in the shower. Free To Roam uses U-TDOA which is a location technology more effective than traditional GPS because it works indoors. With the use of both cellular triangulation and U-TDOA, or (Uplink-Time Difference of Arrival) technology, a 911-approved wireless location technology that relies on sensitive receivers located at cell towers to determine the location of a mobile phone, Free To Roam can pinpoint the location of a wearer anywhere including inside a home, multi-story building, shopping mall, or basement. Range issues are eliminated as well. F2R works wherever there is a cellular signal.
Free To Roam weighs just about one ounce and is slightly larger than a quarter. The battery life with its rechargeable battery lasting up to 2 months between charges, which is 43 times longer than other emergency alert devices, and will provide an audible notification when it is ready to be recharged.
When our customers gets an F2R, we tell them - you are now free to roam about - safely!
