PALM COAST, Fla. - March 10, 2014 - PRLog -- After a successful kickoff to the 2014 festival season, Flagler Fine Art Festivals return with their third "Art Saving Lives" blood drive, to be held at the March 16th festival at Veterans Park in downtown Flagler Beach. Festival hours are from 10am to 4pm, and the OneBlood "Big Red Bus" will be on-site from 10am to 3pm to accept whole blood and double red cell (ALYX) donations. Each donation has the potential to save up to three lives.

Encouraging blood donation is a cause that is close to the heart of festival director, Justine Wintersmith, who lost her father to cancer. Featured full season festival artist Linda Solomon has also recently been diagnosed with cancer, and her painting, "Ocean of Life" will be on display and raffle tickets sold to assist with her cancer treatment. The winning ticket will drawn at the April 27th (4th Sunday due to Easter) festival.

Cancer treatment is among the the top uses for donated blood, and the festival hopes to meet or beat its previous record of 24 units collected. Appointments may be made on the festival website at http://www.FlaglerFineArtFest.com, but are not required to donate.

The growing "third Sunday" festival series focus has always been showcasing the best juried fine art by Florida artists, touting a "selection to suit every style and budget". All artwork displayed at the festivals has been pre-judged for quality and originality--no resale items are allowed and crafts are strictly limited.

Festival artwork purchases of $50 or more may be eligible for "thank you" gift certificates to local restuarants and businesses (subject to availability), and attendees are encouraged to vote in the monthly festival artist contest by picking up a ballot at the festival information booth. Performing arts and art demonstrations on the festival stage and children's activities round out a perfect day beachside for a relaxed arts and culture experience.

The festivals also produce a weekly art events newsletter--a "go-to" resource for those seeking the latest in local culture. For more information, visit http://www.FlaglerFineArtFest.com or call (386)986-9567.

Artists may apply up to 3 days prior to each festival, and there is no application fee. See website for details.
