MedVision's 2014 Utilization eHealth Survey for Maryland

March 10, 2014 - PRLog -- MedVision, Inc. (Annapolis, MD) announces the launch of its 2014 eHealth utilization survey for the state of Maryland.  The MedVision survey will target 1,000 healthcare providers throughout the state in efforts to expand on the MHRA 2010 statewide Telehealth/Telemedicine (THTM) inventory survey.  In the spirit of enhancing innovative, unified healthcare communication (UHC) usage in the state, MedVision will be conducting surveys through live web-based video meetings using the MedVision eHealth Network platform, in addition to traditional, self-paced online and in-person methods.

Maryland’s legislature recently enacted a revolutionary approach to setting and capitating Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates.   Although Maryland’s historic per-capita cost for healthcare has remained 3% or lower than the national average, the new program is designed to further slow the growth in healthcare expenditures.

The Maryland Cost Control Commission believes that eHealth services (i.e., TeleHealth/TeleMedicine) will enable care providers to achieve three directives while restraining health care spending growth:

·       Improved patient outcomes

·       Expanded geographic reach

·       Reduced per-capita health care expenditures
