National Hack The Government is an annual hack day organised by Rewired State. Their aim is to improve transparency, open data and relationships between the Government and the public. The competitive event creates prototypes and builds ingenious projects that help improve state services through use of open UK government data.
The digital media experts worked on four challenges over the two day event including: ‘What if there was free, open WIFI on the beach?’ ‘Enhance the experience of a tourist travelling in to Bournemouth’
Matt Hawkins, Founder & Chairman of C4L said: “It is fantastic to see Hack The Government moving outside of London, bringing it to Bournemouth is a massive confirmation that we have a significant and thriving a digital hub in this area. Because the event brings together creative developers, experts and local government to solve real world problems, it is truly unique and delivers really exciting results. C4L had no hesitation in supporting NHTG in Bournemouth, it reinforces the approach we take in utilising cutting edge digital infrastructure, tools and skills to solve a wide range of issues and we look forward to seeing what the teams come up with.”
Matt Desmier, Digital Economy Consultant said: “As the Centre lead for this event, I approached C4L upon the news as a perfect partner for this fantastic national event. As a local IT infrastructure provider who have been heavily involved with media companies in the area through similar events like Meet Draw, they have the technology resource used by many of these developers and bring credibility to the launch of Hack The Government outside the capital City”
