Debra Buger, a key member of personal injury law firm Shapiro Goldman Babboni & Walsh, attended the presentation with her Mother who grew up in France during the occupation had this comment about the event, ”Last nights presentation by Eva Schloss, Anne Franks playmate then posthumous stepsister, was very moving. Mrs. Schloss was able to talk about a miserable time in history with poise and grace. We left her presentation thankful to meet her and were grateful to hear that after many years of suffering, she has a dignified and purposeful life. Thank you Chabad of Sarasota-Manatee for this special opportunity to hear a first-hand account from a survivor, who works tirelessly to end the violence and bigotry that continue to plague our world.” About Eva Schloss Eva Schloss is a Holocaust survivor who survived escape from her homeland in Austria, two years in hiding, capture on her 15th birthday, nine months in Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, repatriation in Holland, the death of her beloved father and brother… and the poison of bitterness, the burden of grief, the integration of loss.
