Eva Schloss Shares Her Story In Sarasota FL
SARASOTA, Fla. - March 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Eva Schloss, holocaust survivor and sister of Anne Frank gave a lecture on the life and times of  Ann Frank and the discovery of her diary that was attended by Debra Burger of Sarasota law firm Shapiro Goldman Babboni & Walsh.

Eva Schloss, a childhood friend of Anne Frank who would latter become the stepsister of Anne Frank was captured by Nazi Germany on her 15th birthday along with her family and spent nine months in Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. She and her mother survived the horrors of  Auschwitz but her father and brother did not.  Later her mother married Otto Frank, the widowed father of the diarist Anne Frank. Nearly 44 years after the end of WWII, Eva was able to share her story and experiences and began to educate the public so that no one will forget what happened.

Eva Schloss now lives in London UK, has been traveling around Florida to help make sure the next generation does not forget what humanity is capable of, and stopped in Sarasota to share her experiences at Riverview High School in an event sponsored by The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee.

Debra Buger, a key member of personal injury law firm Shapiro Goldman Babboni & Walsh, attended the presentation with her Mother who grew up in France during the occupation had this comment about the event,

”Last nights presentation by Eva Schloss, Anne Franks playmate then posthumous stepsister, was very moving. Mrs. Schloss was able to talk about a miserable time in history with poise and grace. We left her presentation thankful to meet her and were grateful to hear that after many years of suffering, she has a dignified and purposeful life. Thank you Chabad of Sarasota-Manatee for this special opportunity to hear a first-hand account from a survivor, who works tirelessly to end the violence and bigotry that continue to plague our world.”
