Pedal for Great Futures Cycle to Benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County’s Local Yout

 
MONTEREY, Calif. - March 6, 2014 - PRLog -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC), in partnership with In-Shape, is hosting the first “Pedal for Great Futures” event at BGCMC Seaside Clubhouse on Sunday, March 16, 2014. Participants are invited to sign up as a single rider or form a team of three to participate in this stationary cycling event, benefitting local youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County.

“We are so excited about our partnership with In-Shape, and their idea of creating a fun cycling competition to help our kids. We invite the entire Monterey County community to participate in this event, and join BGCMC in promoting fitness as we raise funds to support our mission”, said Donna Ferraro, CEO and President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County.

The event runs from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM. A Sports Expo is open from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM for participants to connect with many of our community partners. Registration is $49.00 per rider and pre-registration is required. For more information about the event or to register, visit www.bgcmc.org.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) has played an integral role in the community for over 45 years.  BGCMC Clubhouses in Seaside and Salinas, as well as extension sites in El Sausal and La Paz Middle Schools, and CHISPA Sea Garden Housing provide an afterschool safe haven for children and teen as well as the mentorship and guidance to enable Club members to maintain on-grade school progression, graduation from high school, and eventually earn a livable wage.  Nearly 90% of the total budget comes from generous individuals, corporations and foundations.
