McGladrey Expands Tax Practice to Meet Client Needs

NEW YORK - March 6, 2014 - PRLog -- McGladrey LLP, the nation's leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, announces that Harlan Kwiatek, CPA, JD, LL.M. has joined the firm as a partner in its New York City office.

Harlan brings over 30 years of experience providing tax consulting and compliance services to his clients on state income, franchise, property, sales and use taxes and credit and incentive matters. His experience includes state tax law research and planning, state audit defense representation, negotiations at the field and administration hearing levels, review and preparation of tax returns and refunds and voluntary disclosures.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting degree and Juris Doctor in Law from Creighton University and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University.  Harlan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he currently is a member of the Tax Executive Committee, several state CPA societies and bar associations. He has authored and edited portions of the Taxation Law and Practice Deskbook and articles for AICPA’s The Tax Advisor magazine.  Prior to moving to New York, he also was an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law and Fontbonne University School of Business.  He currently resides in Cliffside Park, NJ.
