Budget 2014 Goes Live in Tees Valley

Nationally-renowned commentator David Smith, Economics Editor of The Sunday Times, will reveal his take on the Chancellor’s fiscal policy at a Budget Live! event hosted by Tees Valley Unlimited and sponsored by Latimer Hinks Solicitors, Darlington
 
DARLINGTON, U.K. - March 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Guests at Budget Live 2014! will be able to question a panel comprising Mr Smith, Tees Valley Unlimited Managing Director Stephen Catchpole, Institute of Directors North East Chairman Alastair Thomson and Anne Elliott, from Latimer Hinks Solicitors.

The Chancellor George Osborne’s Budget will be broadcast live to the audience of Tees Valley’s influential decision-makers and business leaders and will be followed by a Question Time- style debate.

The economic briefing is being held at Teesside University’s Darlington Campus on Wednesday March 19 starting at 12noon.

TVU is the Local Enterprise Partnership for the five local authorities of Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton on Tees and is charged with helping driving the local economy forward.

Stephen Catchpole, TVU Managing Director, said: "With recent fiscal indicators pointing to an upturn in the UK’s economic fortunes and with a General Election being on the cards next year, all eyes will be on this year’s Budget.

"Following the broadcast, an expert panel will discuss what they believe the implications of the Chancellor’s statement will be for the region and beyond.”

Anne Elliott is a Partner, and agricultural law specialist at Latimer Hinks Solicitors, one of Darlington and County Durham’s longest established law firms.
