Bang Salon Unveils Design Plans for Newest Location

WASHINGTON - March 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Bang Salon is getting a whole new look and feel with a fashionable twist. The full-service local hair salon announced today its stylish new design plans for the fourth location set to open at The Yards development project at 1212 4^th Street, SE. The 1,500-square-foot Bang Salon at The Yards is part of the $6.5 million, 30,000-square-foot fitness and lifestyle multiplex that VIDA Fitness will anchor, along with its affiliated concepts the Penthouse Pool Club and Aura Spa, at the Twelve12 mixed-use residential complex on the Capitol Riverfront. The build-out for Bang’s fourth location started on February 1 with a grand opening slated for late summer 2014.

Plans for Bang Salon at The Yards call for 15 styling stations and will boast the full collection of services and treatments that are characteristically found at its other three DC-area locations. The exclusive Bang Salon hair and body product line, which includes Clean shampoo, Sleek conditioner, Clear face & body wash and Fresh sugarscrub, will also be available.

Designed by Stoneking-von Storch Architects of Charlottesville, VA and Hallock Design Group of Miami, FL, Bang’s new design is a fusion of modern, fresh and lively configurations that incorporates sophisticated hues of purple, black and white to create a classic, chic retro look. Silver Metallic patterns will cover the interior walls with an enlarged kaleidoscope effect of butterfly wings and pieces of amethyst. Glossy dove grey pods with tufted silver leather panels were created to encase the styling stations. The flooring is a neutral black porcelain matte finish that grounds and balances the space.

Similar to the economics principle of supply and demand, Bang Salon features a unique pricing system that is based strictly on client inquiries and performance of each individual stylist and is not reliant on how many years of experience or awards/recognitions they have accumulated. Modeled after a Likert scale, (with 1 being the lowest/least expensive level and 4A being the highest), this competitive pricing system addition allows the stylist to charge more per appointment the higher level they achieve.
