First Ever "Baseball City" Brings Hall of Famers, All-Stars and Legends to Phoenix March 15 and 16

PHOENIX - March 5, 2014 - PRLog -- As the Spring Training season is at a fever pitch in Arizona, residents, tourists and sports enthusiasts alike are gearing up for Baseball City - the largest and only interactive Spring Training event in the country. Baseball City, designed to redefine FanFests for the baseball industry, takes place Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Recently added to the roster are Hall of Famers Ferguson Jenkins, Gaylord Perry, Orlando Cepeda and San Francisco Giants 2012 World Series Champion Pablo Sandoval and Salvador Perez, All-Star and gold glove catcher for the Kansas City Royals.

All-Star Baseball players such as former Seattle Mariners third baseman Edgar Martinez, Martin Prado and Aaron Hill from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox power hitter Adam Dunn, Jose Canseco and more will also be leading clinics and taking pictures with fans.

Saturday, March 15

·       Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda - 2-2:30 p.m.

·       Baseball Legend Ferguson Jenkins - 4-8 p.m.

·       Baseball Legend Jose Canseco - 5-8 p.m.

·       All-Stars Aaron Hill and Martin Prado - 6-6:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 16

·       Hall of Famer Andre Dawson – 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

·       Baseball Legend Steve Garvey – 1-2 p.m.

·       Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry 4-8 p.m.

·       Baseball Legend Edgar Martinez – 4:30-5:30 p.m.

·       All-Star Billy Butler – 6-7 p.m.

·       All-Stars Salvador Perez and Pablo Sandoval – 6-7:30 p.m.

The Giants Pablo Sandoval and All-Star Russ Ortiz will lead private clinics for Make-A-Wish Arizona wish kids and families. The FanFest will benefit future Arizona wishes by donating $1 from every ticket sold to Make-A-Wish Arizona. Kansas City Royals stars, Billy Butler and Salvador Perez, San Francisco Giants hurler, Ryan Vogelsong, Olympic Medalist and Colorado Rockies pitcher Brett Anderson, and two-time All-Star Scott Kazmir, are among the many other stars scheduled to attend throughout the weekend.

Over 60,000 square feet of the Convention Center will morph into a field of dreams for enthusiasts of all ages. Fans will experience what it’s like to ‘hit it out of the park’ at the Home Run Derby field before they head over to learn how to throw a world class fastball just like the pros at the Speed Pitch station. Attendees will also get an up close and personal experience with historic memorabilia, locker room displays and will be able to browse premier baseball vendors showing the latest training and equipment tools.
