March 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Graham International Implant Institute’s Formación Quirúrgica Ortopédica, Sub-especialidad Tobillo y Pie 2014 took place at Centro Latinoamericano de Entrenamiento en Cirugía Mínima Invasión (CLEMI) in Bogotá, Colombia and proved to be a huge success for all of the attendees. The number of registrants surpassed expectations by the program’s sponsor, GraMedica®.

GraMedica, Arthroscorp S.A., Artrolife, S.A. DE C.V., Corporacion Conmed, Howmedical S.a., and Promedon combined to create this event at the world-renowned Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center, CLEMI, in Colombia. The concept behind the event was to provide specialized foot and ankle surgical training in Latin America – a widely successful event with over 50 attendees from seven different countries.

Following a warm welcome from Dr. Michael Graham to all attendees was a lecture regarding Practice Management from Mr. Michael Spiegler, from MJS Consulting, the point person for this event. Lectures from Dr. Gregory Rivera included Diagnosing Extra-Osseous TaloTarsal Stabilization (EOTTS) and his experience with HyProCure® and EOTTS. The afternoon included a lecture from Dr. Graham regarding First Ray Disorders and a cadaver lab that included hands-on training in minimally invasive hindfoot stabilization techniques.

Dr. Graham is the founder and director of the Graham International Implant Institute, an organization dedicated in educating foot and ankle specialists to use cutting-edge, ground breaking technologies and procedures. Upon completion of the surgical training workshop and cadaver lab, attendees have the information they need to recognize, diagnose, and surgically treat to bring about restoration and improvement to a significant number of patients with painful foot and ankle disorders.

GraMedica® is the Macomb, Michigan developer and manufacturer of HyProCure®, a surgical stent that has been used in over 26,000 procedures worldwide to treat congenital/acquired talotarsal joint dislocation, a surgically correctable condition that results in the misalignment of the foot and other major structures of the body. Left untreated, congenital/acquired talotarsal joint dislocation can lead to serious, long-term foot, knee, hip, and back related issues that often require much more aggressive forms of surgery. The minimally invasive HyProCure® procedure has provided children and adult patients with immediate and permanent correction for congenital/acquired talotarsal joint dislocation.
