Southern Ocean Chamber LBI Region Report Radio Show Nominated for Tourism Award

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - March 5, 2014 - PRLog -- The New Jersey Travel Industry Association hosts its 2014 Tourism Conference at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City March 19-20. This statewide event, brings tourism professionals, destination marketing organizations, chambers of commerce, restaurants, attractions, culture and lodging representatives together to advance knowledge and share expertise on best practices of tourism opportunities within the state. Speakers throughout the conference feature America's Travel Detective, Peter Greenberg, an Emmy award winning travel journalist on CBS and NY Times best selling author on March 19 and Jersey City's St Anthony High School Coach Bob Hurley, one of the most winning coaches in high school basketball history, who through his motivation changed the path of his community. Coach Hurley was the subject of the book Miracle of St Anthony's and a 60 Minutes segment, will be the keynote at Thursday's Celebration of Tourism Luncheon. Sessions include Connecting with customers, especially women and moms, New Travel Frontiers Mobile Packaging, Rural Tourism Security and Safety as well as Cultural Attractions.


During the March 20 Celebration of Tourism Luncheon the New Jersey Travel Industry Association will present the 2014 NJ Tourism Excellence Awards, where the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce's LBI Region Report Radio Show has been nominated for a partnership and public relations award. The LBI Region Report is in its second season and airs weekly on WBNJ 91.9FM highlighting Southern Ocean County Chamber members on the air reaching over 26000 listeners is Ocean, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden and Philadelphia counties. The Southern Ocean County Chamber has won Tourism Award recognition in previous years for Chowderfest Weekend, the visitLBIregion.com Website, The Wedding Road Show and LBITV Beyond the Beach Segments.  The 100 year old organization, has been recently accredited by DMAI Washington DC, a status reserved for those meeting the highest industry standards.
