March 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Elbow grease is an idiom for working hard at manual labour, as in "You need to use some elbow grease." It is a humorous reflection of the fact that some tasks can only be achieved by hard effort and human energy, contrasting with the idea that there should be some special oil, tool or chemical product to make the job easier. A Mobile website is not the only “Special Tool” to get customers running into your business, you also need, “A Little Elbow Grease”

Monthly Statistics, I love them and I hate them. As the end of the month approaches we compile the statistics for Mobile Website Customers, and we email them a report on who, why, what, when and how the site and feature buttons have performed for the month. It can be joy or abuse from the moment a customer opens the email.

“Is that all” will be the opening line from the abuse section and, “Yippee” will be the scream from the Joy section.

You see the abuse section of the Customer Community has fallen for the, “Miracle Potion” theory. That theory being with all the world being mobile you just need to have one of these Mobile Site puppies, and you will then need to install a Number machine as so many potential customers will be lining up to sample your goods and chattels!

In addition to the incredible miracles of a Mobile Site? They believe that instantly they will rank number one on Google just by the mere fact they have entered there Business name and address is urban spoon and such. They truly believe that when people type, “Bla Bla Eating” in google? That their Bla Bla will in a flash without any effort be above all other Bla Bla’s in the area they are in.

And when they don’t see that result? Wow they get ugly

The Joy people on the other hand, ah what bliss to chat with them, what a pleasure to view their stats. Graphs that show Mobile features and usage that looks like a Blood Pressure reading of a stressed out executive, way way way up!

Yes the Joy brigade stats show Mega clicks on the Mobile sites Promotions button, Call us, Contact us, Reservations, Face Book buttons, whereas the stats form the Abuse crowd? Well it resembles that of somebody that arrived at the hospital in desperate need of a defibrillator!

So what is the secret sauce of the Joy Brigade? Well they work there Mobile Sites. Changing Promotions at least every two weeks, Posting daily on Facebook Fan Pages and Tweeting on Twitter, treating both as a “Newspaper” of their Business, spreading great and exciting headlines.

The Abuse Section? Well they most likely sit back drink Latte’s and wait for the sky to fall.

The main difference between the Joy and Abuse sections? One has learnt about a poduct you can’t buy but is always there when you need it, the other is looking on EBay for it.

The Product? Elbow Grease!
