Due South Wins "Best Large Brewery in Florida 2014" in Annual Competition

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - March 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Due South Brewing Co., located in Boynton Beach, FL, has won the award for Best Large Brewery in Florida 2014. Results were announced this past weekend at the Brewers Ball in Tampa, FL for the 14th annual Best Florida Beer Competition. In addition to winning Best Large Brewery in Florida, Due South's Mariana Trench Imperial Stout, Category 5 IPA, and Asylum Harbor Red Ale all brought home gold medals with Cafe Ole Espresso Porter winning silver and Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Pico Duarte winning bronze. The Category 5 IPA won second runner up for Best Beer in Florida out of over 380 entries.

Due South has been brewing beer in south Florida for almost 2 years. “It’s an honor to be placed in a category beside all of these great breweries around the State of Florida,” says Mike Halker, founder of Due South. “We’ve all been working very hard to put Florida on the national craft beer map and the quality of beer being produced here is through the roof.”

The next big event for Due South will be Extreme Beer Fest in Boston, MA on March 21st and 22nd. Some of the beers to be featured at this event will be a coconut, cranberry, and pineapple infused ale and a bourbon barrel aged version of their gold medal winning Mariana Trench Imperial Stout.
