March 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Some of the most consistent complaints I hear from clients is that their former web developer hosted their site and they didn't have a clue about its performance. Moreover, minor changes took months to update.

What's scarier? If the developer failed to pay for the hosting service, the clients' site went down. Calls weren't returned; all the time and money spent on the site was lost.

Keeping current on the ever constant changes with the internet is a full-time job. If you're not up-to-the-minute versed on internet terms, capabilities and benefits, you're exposing yourself to being sold a bill of goods. And unfortunately, there are developers who know that.  They'll throw out terms like: SEO, analytics and responsive just to convince you that you will need their monthly add-on services so your site will function.

Hand holding and maintenance are givens since you'll need time to understand and learn how your site is set-up. To get locked into monthly add-on charges by developers is mostly unnecessary. So what's the difference?

First of all, we advise our clients to have their own hosting account on servers such as: Bluehost and godaddy. These companies aren't going anywhere and their performance stats are near 100%. Annual hosting charges are around $60 depending on the size of space and number of databases your site requires. Yes, it's that inexpensive.

Your site can be setup with Google Analytics so you can see important stats, such as: number of views, unique views, demographics, key words and server locations. Once set up, GA is a no-cost google service.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can also be added to your site so your pages will have the important key words for crawlers to find. There are different levels of SEO but once added to your site, the basic program costs nothing.

If you're a boomer with a business you need a website that conveys your message, products or stories. Boomer-Productions (http://boomer-productions.com) will work with you to create the best experience for you and your viewers.
