By: Symphony Nova Co-commissioned by Boston Musica Viva and frequently performed by others throughout New England, Dead Elvis has entered the classical cannon largely through the efforts of Bostonians. In joining “high” and “low,” popular and art music, the work has become a poster child for the American postmodern aesthetic and is often cited in articles and textbooks on the subject. Joining these two influential works is Martinu’s delightful La Revue de Cuisine, a wacky kitchen utensils’ love story. Performances are Friday, March 21st, 8 PM at Old South Church in Copley Square and Sunday March 23rd, 3 PM at King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham. Please contact Michael Reichman at Michael@symphonynova.org or 781-381-3300 to schedule an interview with conductor Lawrence Isaacson or bassoonist Sebastian Chaves.
