Akraya Inc.’s President Joins IEEW’s Board of Directors

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - March 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Akraya Inc. announces Co-Founder & President, Sonu Ratra, to the Board of Directors for The Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women (IEEW).

IEEW is a non-profit organization empowering women to grow their businesses, pursue greater entrepreneurial ventures, and become more active public policy advocates. Sonu has previously been involved with IEEW as a mentor for their PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS program.

Being an entrepreneur, Sonu believes that with success comes great responsibility and that we must put special emphasis on supporting organizations helping women entrepreneurs in other countries.

“With my new role as a Board Member, I hope to bring IEEW the recognition it deserves in the Silicon Valley and to include others to support this endeavor” said Sonu. “It is a fantastic opportunity for me to further the mission and programs of the IEEW and to empower Women in Business Internationally”.

Sonu also serves as the Board of Directors at the Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council, and plays a leadership role with Astra Women’s Business Alliance in Northern California. Sonu is a past winner of the Enterprising Woman of the Year Award, Woman of Influence Award, Stevie Award for Women and the Soroptimist Ruby Award amongst others.
