Hannah Flanagan’s and America’s Satellite a recipe for success

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - March 4, 2014 - PRLog -- “As a traditional Irish pub, we are one of the social spots for the community.  So providing a great TV/Sports package to our patrons is important.  It may seem simple, but with the age of the building, working out the service, cabling and installation was not simple, commented Matt Johnes, owner of Hannah Flanagan’s.  “When our IT providers recommended America’s Satellite we contacted them.  Alberto Berrio and his team did a great job.  They understood our needs and what was required to switch from cable to Satellite.  They walked us carefully through all of our options to ensure we got the right packages and services we needed, as well as handling all of the implementation challenges.  Once installed, they trained our team and ensured we understood how everything works.  We have now been through two full NFL seasons and with the upcoming Soccer World Cup, this year, look forward to continuous great coverage for our patrons.”

The pub is a traditional Irish pub, with a twist.   “We’re known more for our food.  We have a traditional pub menu – with a great twist.  Our chicken wings, fish tacos, lamb gyros give our patrons a more dynamic menu.  We also work with local vendors for the best ingredients and products.  One of our all-time favorites is our fish and chips.   We use cold water cod, breaded with our special secret blend of spices.  Everyone loves it.”

In 2000, Matt became the owner of Hannah Flanagan’s.  “I grew up in Hendersonville, graduated from Hendersonville High School and NC States Davidson College.  As a commercial pilot working out of Hendersonville airport I needed to supplement my income, so I worked within the service industry starting with washing dishes.  I worked my way up and in 2000 became the owner of Hannah Flanagan’s.”   With six of his employees celebrating over ten years of service, and his patrons, many of whom have been coming to Hannah’s as long as Matt’s owned it you get a sense of his style and approach.

Matt’s Passion for his hometown is evident not only through his loyal patrons and employees, but also his commitment to support the community.   Matt and his team continually support several local non-profits:  Mainstay (help victims of domestic violence in Henderson County), Flat Rock Playhouse, Hands On and others.

Matt and his team are also excited by their unique “Order of the Beer wall”.    The Order of the Beer Wall was started in 1993.  The most intrepid and courageous beer drinkers have joined the quest to conquer the beer wall.   Here’s the scoop: If you drink one each of the 90 or so bottled beers they offer (you don’t have to drink the 90 bottled beers in one sitting), you become a member of the Order of the Beer Wall. In addition to the adoration of masses of fans, you get an exclusive t-shirt, you name is recorded on the plaques at the bar, and most importantly you get 20 ounces of draft beer for the price of 16 for the rest of your life.

The 20 ounce dimpled beer stein, known as the “wall mug”, is how your fellow “wall muggers” will recognize you. We also host periodic special events for wall muggers, and they are first in line for giveaways from our favorite brewers and distillers.
