Why Do We Need Sanitary Fitting

To be concise, we can say that sanitary fitting refers to any component to join sanitary piping or tubes. When we refer tothe material used in manufacturing these fittings, stainless steel is widely employed. The benefit of stainless steel is that it is easy to clean its surface because of smoothness. It is a secure and useful alternative for sanitary applications. Its anti microbial quality and resistance power against corrosion even in extreme conditions makes it a choice of metal for sanitary fittings.

However, copper or steel is also used to produce these fittings for some non-food-based applications. Some people use thermoplastic piping for the applications where transport of water is required. Different grades of stainless steel fittings are available in the market. Although, you need to pay more money to buy high grade yet you get a better quality as compared to low grade stainless steel fittings. Smoother surface of higher grade stainless steel allows easy cleaning and also keep free of germs.

On the other hand, lower grade is accessible at comparatively lower price but it has some drawbacks. It is not totally germ-free because the rough texture on the surface is likely to attract dust and thus introduce contamination. Cleaning the sanitary fitting is also not easy for the same reason. Unlike traditional rubber products, gaskets made of food-grade rubber are used in these fittings.
