PRLog - March 4, 2014 - CALGARY, Alberta -- InnoTrac Inc., Innovative solutions in the development of WiFi tracking platforms
InnoTrac Inc. was formed in 2007 as an Alberta, Canada corporation with the intent of developing innovative tracking solutions utilizing RFID, GPS and most recently WiFi.
In early 2013 InnoTrac set out to deliver a WiFi tracking system for pet owners called iTracMyPet. This program utilizes the same technology we anticipate using for this project, iTracMedi with the exception that the WiFi tag would be better suited comfort wise and display the awareness colour of the Alzheimer society, purple.
Every year we hear of persons afflicted with Alzheimers unknowingly walk away from their home only to become disoriented and the regrettable result is serious injury or death. The iTracMedi bracelet and WiFi system allows us to install the WiFi router with outdoor enclosure both in and outside any care facility. The router is pre-programmed to work with our tracking software which is accessible via your PC, phone or tablet. The bracelet is water and shock proof and contains a small WiFi receiver which communicates with the WiFi router. When a WiFi bracelet comes in range or out of range with the router, an immediate alert is sent to either the nursing desk or supporting caregiver by either a text message, phone call, email or on screen alert. Location range can be increased within communities if free WiFi access points are available through public or private networks thereby increasing track ability of the bracelet should someone step away from the care facility.
Although the function of the equipment remains the same, the market carries a vast difference. Pet owners typically are willing to spend as much money deemed necessary to protect their pets. Regrettably due to government cutbacks in health services and products, providing an equal product and service is much more difficult to perform as most persons afflicted with Alzheimer's are on fixed incomes or their families are not in a financial position to support their loved ones and typically place the afflicted in a care home.
The iTracMedi WiFi bracelet and tracking hardware/software is unique in the world. The bracelet itself is the only one of its kind in the world, but it along with the custom programmed WiFi router and annual subscription package can make implementation of the device in a seniors care facility or home difficult and unattainable by some.
InnoTrac wants to through this fund raising program, subsidize the costs of the equipment to support fixed income seniors in need of protecting either themselves or as is often the case their afflicted spouse.
