News Media and Ethics in the Digital Age the topic at Broadcasters Club of Florida Luncheon March 14

Kelly McBride, from the Poynter Institute will be the featured speaker at this month's Broadcasters Club of Florida luncheon in Sarasota.
 
SARASOTA, Fla. - March 3, 2014 - PRLog -- (Sarasota, FL)  Kelly McBride, Senior Faculty Member at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, will talk about “News Media and Ethics in the Digital Age” at the Broadcasters Club of Florida Luncheon at the SaraBay Golf and Country Club in Sarasota on Friday, March 14th.

Ms. Poynter currently runs the Ethics Department and the Reporting, Writing and Editing Department at the Poynter Institute and is the co-editor of “The New Ethics of Journalism: Principles for the 21st Century”, which features essays by 14 thought leaders and practitioners, as well as a new code of ethics for journalists and people who care about journalism.

The world’s largest newsrooms, including the New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, NPR and the BBC, frequently seek her advice for internal decisions and quote her expertise in their stories.

The Broadcasters Club of Florida luncheon meeting is open to the public. ($20 for members, $22 for non-members) The Broadcasters Club meets the second Friday each month from October through April. Socializing begins at 11:30 and lunch begins at Noon.
