Local Personal Development Center in Menlo Park to focus on helping kids, teens and adults to become more optimistic in March of 2014

“Optimists find the best in their worst day.  Pessimists find the worst in their best day.  Anyone can be either.  Optimism and pessimism are not about perspective, but rather, choice.”   -- Dr. Robyn Silverman – Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s Child Development Expert

March 2014 is Optimism Month as part of Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s Powerful Words Character Development program! All students will be studying, developing and experiencing powerful life lessons focusing on understanding the value and benefit of becoming a person who believes and expects everything will work out for the best.  In addition to all of the physical skills that they'll be working on this month, students will be discussing and practicing the following concepts both in and out of class:

•    Optimism defined: What is Optimism vs Pessimism?

•    Dealing with challenges: How do we change how we think?

•    Blame and Accountability: How do optimists vs pessimists cope?

•    Inner talk and believing in oneself: How can we be more optimistic?

“We all know people who tend to be more optimistic or more pessimistic in daily situations. Optimism and pessimism are not just about seeing the positive or focusing on the negative.  There is more to it. Pessimists tend to see bad things that happen as permanent, pervasive, and personal. They see one bad thing happening as an indication that more bad things are on their way.  Optimists, in contrast, see negative incidents as temporary and external-- having no bearing on what’s to come in the future.” says Dr. Robyn Silverman, Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park child & adolescent expert, and creator of the Powerful Words Character Development system used at the facility.

SBN Kristin Quintana, Chief Instructor of Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park says, "I’ve always found that my most successful students are optimistic.  Deep down in their hearts, they know they’ll be successful, so they continue to take the action steps necessary to make that a reality.  It’s a pleasure seeing our community recognized as a place with Powerful Character, and seeing our students lead the way! As this community’s premier Powerful Personal Development Center, we take this responsibility very seriously. We’re thrilled to help our students and our community to thrive and succeed, and Optimism month is going to help us to do just that.”

Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s strong curriculum and the Powerful Words Character Development system provide our students with the opportunities to become UNSTOPPABLE in life. These lessons will remain with our students for life and we're honored to help them achieve the success that they deserve” says Quintana.

SBN Kristin Quintana is the Chief Instructor of Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park and has helped thousands of kids, teens, and adults to embrace a positive and healthy lifestyle.
