Kimberton Waldorf School and Triskeles to Host Conference

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - March 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Kimberton Waldorf School and Triskeles will host the second annual Tempus Youth Social Entrepreneurship Conference on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at Kimberton Waldorf School, 410 West Seven Stars Road, Phoenixville, PA. The theme for this year’s conference is Stepping Stones to Social Entrepreneurship, and will focus on teaching young adults the essential skills and knowledge needed to plan, organize, fund, and run a business.

For two days, attendees will learn the stepping stones to successful entrepreneurship: strong networking, good business planning, identifying the target market, managing a company, and much more. Attendees will get insight into the impact that a socially driven or responsible business can have and how they can make conscious decisions every day to help social and environmental causes.

“Today’s young adults have an intrinsic need to feel like they are making a difference and having a positive impact on the world. This two-day conference features stimulating discussions, dynamic keynote speakers, and hands-on workshops designed to inspire and prepare the next generation of socially responsible leaders.” said Mark Birdsall, President/Executive Director of Triskeles.

The conference offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for participants to meet other young adults, share their passions and interests, hear inspiring stories from notable social entrepreneurs, and attend workshops and forums on many key topics including “Characteristics of an Entrepreneur,” “Your Marketing/Sales Plan,”“Financials: Finding Funders,” and “Networking for Success.” National-level speakers, starting with Don Shaffer from RSF Social Finance in San Francisco, and entrepreneurs of all ages, including a Philadelphia high school student who started and sold his first business by age 15, will present a variety of workshops to introduce participants to different sectors of the entrepreneurial space including global, technology, environmental, media, and the arts.
