Sausage, Bacon and Beer Take Over at Kaiser Tiger

CHICAGO - March 3, 2014 - PRLog -- The Kaiser Tiger is preparing to make a bold mark on Chicago’s West Loop next month.  Located where The Tasting Room once resided, at 1415 W. Randolph Street, Kaiser Tiger will offer a wide variety of deliciously spiced, artisanal sausage and an impressive selection of craft beer to match.

The 10,000-square-foot venture of Chris Latchford and Pat Berger—owners of Paddy Long’s Beer & Bacon Pub in Lakeview—will serve as a hearty yet casual concept among some of the West Loop's more high-end restaurants. For Latchford and Berger, Kaiser Tiger is opportunely situated to offer sports fans and concert-goers a new hot spot near the United Center.

“Chicago has been making great sausage for over a century now, but we want to showcase the best of it in a special way,” Latchford said. “Vikings and cavemen are looking down from the heavens and weeping with pride at what we are about to do.”

The two-story former warehouse is furnished with 260 indoor seats, and for the much anticipated summer months, 80 sidewalk seats and a 200-seat beer garden. Exposed brick walls and large glass windows add character and sunlight to the establishment, while the second floor provides stunning skyline views, which are sure to attract a loyal crowd.

As for the menu, Kaiser Tiger provides patrons with a unique and flavorful approach to three beloved items: sausage, bacon and beer.

One such item will be the Beer & Bacon Sausage. Using their fine bacon knowledge, they have collaborated with local brewery, Lagunitas, to create this unique offering.

Kaiser Tiger will also serve fresh cut Belgium-style fries, fried twice for a crispy exterior and perfectly soft interior. Accompanying them will be a host of traditional and unique dipping sauces to pick from. Rumor has it that these fries will be cooked in bacon fat each Sunday.

And finally, to wash it all down customers can choose from a plethora of beers selected by Berger, a certified beer judge who has adjudicated such events as The World Beer Awards, The World Beer Championships and is a beer panelist at the Beverage Tasting Institute.
