Activities concentrate on the greater Bend region, a favorite of Outside and Entrepreneur magazines. Home base is high desert Smith Rock State Park, birthplace of modern sport climbing that is sought after by domestic and international climbers alike. The nearby Deschutes is regularly named one of the top five whitewater rivers in the country for its Class III and IV rapids. Bend is also home to 11 local breweries on what’s known as the Bend Ale Trail, a route scheduled into this Bonvoy Adventure Travel itinerary. At the end of the vacation, there’s a detour to Pinot Noir sampling and shopping in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. http://www.visitbend.com/
