Anvil Media Kicks Off 2014 Charity of Choice with Make-A-Wish® Oregon

March 3, 2014 - PRLog -- PORTLAND, Ore. – Anvil Media, Inc., an integrated marketing agency specializing insearch engine marketing, social media marketing and analytics, is pleased to announce the kickoff of its 2014 Charity of Choice program which includes providing pro bono marketing services to Make-A-Wish® Oregon (http://oregon.wish.org/). Outreach initiatives include pro bono services, cash donations, employee volunteer days and a local networking group.

In December, Anvil hosted a poll to select its annual Charity of Choice recipient who receives pro bono marketing services throughout 2014.  Almost 500 people participated in the poll and Make-A-Wish® Oregon was selected as the winner.  Anvil will work with Make-A-Wish® Oregon throughout the year on social media and search engine optimization efforts.

“Make-A-Wish® Oregon relies on the generosity and support of the community in order to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions,” said Tracy Lam, Make-A-Wish® Oregon Public Relations & Communications Manager.  “Through Anvil Media’s expertise, we hope to improve our social media and website components to help us reach more supporters, so we can make the wishes of every eligible child come true.”

Anvil has already totaled more than 190 hours of pro bono or in-kind services to Oregon non-profits in 2014.  Other organizations receiving services include the Vestibular Disorders Association and the Northwest Film Center’s Portland International Film Festival.

Since 2011 Anvil has provided quarterly cash donations to deserving local organizations.  Employees nominate local organizations and then Anvil enlists the public to select the recipient by voting on its Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AnvilMediaInc).  Voting for the first quarterly Charity of Choice donation of 2014 is open from March 3 through March 7. Participating organizations include Blue Mountain Wildlife, Ecotrust, {Log Camp} Operation Pitch Invasion, and p:ear Mentoring. In 2013, Anvil donated almost $10,000 to local non-profits.

Anvil also believes in actively volunteering in the community, providing a volunteer opportunity for the team each quarter.  The first volunteering outing of 2014 was held at the Oregon Food Bank where the team packaged a total of 10,641 pounds of food or the equivalent of 8,876 meals for Oregonians in need.

“Having been a part of the Portland community for 14 years, I believe supporting our local community is an excellent way for Anvil to give back,” said Kent Lewis, Anvil Media President and Founder. “We also understand different organizations have different needs and that’s why we focus on giving back in a variety of tangible ways.”

Another community outreach initiative of Anvil’s is hosting a local networking group.  pdxMindShare hosts monthly workshops and networking events as well as supporting job seekers through a weekly email of upcoming events and job opportunities in the Portland area.
