Normally wires do not come with prepublications.

Sometimes the wires though pre-lubricated, wires are kept longer for storage prior to knitting process, this dries out lubrication and creates dry running of wires.

Dry running of wires are not suitable for knitting process as this will create more frictions on needles hook, latch, and butt, normally in this case the butt or hooks are broken or damaged faster.

To avoid these broken needles hooks and butt lubrications are needed.
