March 1, 2014 - PRLog -- I am sitting her working on my computer using internet, and my cell phone, AND I have the TV on in the background. Yes, how sweet it is….Okay so what is the big deal right?  Well I am doing it all for $50 or to be honest my sister is because she helped me cover this expense.  Yes, the 29+ year old is asking her school teacher sister to bail her out.  I love this picture of us.  It is symbolic of our relationship.  She has always been my rock and no matter what I do she is there for me.  She is three years older than me and has taken ownership of me since I was born.  I am not going to get into details of my upbringing or the demise of my parents, but what I will say is that I am very angry about it…and heartbroken.

For me anger has been a very cathartic emotion.  At first I stomp around, then I sleep for a couple of days, then….I get motivated.  Things that don’t otherwise seem possible I can make happen.  I don’t mean that I am brilliant but I also don’t take no for an answer.  So much in life is possible if you just ask for it our put your self out there.  In less than a year I have an amazing business with clients that are beyond my wildest dreams–because I just went for it.    Don’t get me wrong, I am no pollyanna and have done plenty wrong.  Starting a business without start up capital is super hard, and my inability to express my needs or explain my situation were sobering learning experiences.  That is the beautiful thing about life, we can make mistakes and apologize and CHANGE.

So this post for me today is about loyalty.

Who are you most loyal to? I would say my sister.  The person who means more to me than anything is the one I run to when I cannot pay my cell phone bill.  Makes sense right?  But let’s look at this situation.  I scrape together the money to try to pay my phone bill taking money from my sister the school teacher with a 10 year old son.  In truth my loyalty is to AT&T Wireless, not my sister.  If I don’t pay the bill AT&T Wireless will turn my service off, charge me late fees and fees to turn my phone back on AND….on top of that will then sue me because I could not honor my contract.

Why do we do that?  I had a bill of $385 that I asked to pay in installments and AT&T Wireless refused.  Oh no!!!!  I don’t have a phone!!!  AT&T YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG WOMAN!

Introducing……Talkatone by Google, which includes Google Voice and text……I get a free phone number and calls anywhere I have wifi….Yeah okay AT&T keep you stupid phone and contract.  I reached out and asked that you sponsor my business services for a year, but no one ever replied to me.  Am I breaking a contract?  Yes, and I am saving $2500 a year AND my phone is free!

Next to cable Atlantic Broad Band….I was having the perfect storm with my utilities.   My cable was turned off and Atlantic Broadband wanted me to pay over $300 to get it turned back on.  Mind you my job revolves around social media and television.  I literally begged them to make accommodations for me as they would paralyze my small business.
So what did I do?  I asked my next door neighbor if I could get their wifi password and use their wifi for a week until I figured out what I was goign to do and got my Clear Wireless modem from my sister.  and now I have internet and phone for $50 per month.

So what about Cable….Did you know you could stream live television?  Well I didn’t until last week either, but you can….I have been watch cable all day…..I use www.stream2watch.me…I need to say before you give it a go…I don’t know anything about it if it is legal or not….but I LOVE IT!

So Atlantic Broadband and AT&T Wireless, I am breaking up with you.   I gave you a chance to help but thank you for providing me with a forum to help others.

I am not going to take advantage of those who helped me most for big business.  My landlord, Larry, Marina, Jo, Seth and my sister deserve my loyalty and they have it!
