In Mark Archambault’ Another elusive half dollar is profiled in Tom DeFina’s article, “An Interesting 1874-CC Half Dollar Die State.” In it, DeFina describes the diagnostics and reports the population of the “Railroad Track” variety, and provides readers with another of his popular word-search puzzles. Weimar White continues his long-running streak of article contributions with his analysis of one of the finest known 1883-CC $20 gold pieces. Life member Michael “The Drummer” Parrott shares with readers his gratitude toward the Carson City Coin Collectors of America, its members, and its journal by stating in his article how his affiliation with the organization has “enriched his life.” C4OA president and Curry’s Chronicle editor, Rusty Goe, rounds out the issue with his contribution, “Sudden Infusion of Carson City Coins Rings in the New Year – 2014.” In it, Goe scans the large offering of desirable Carson City-minted coins up for grabs at the January 2014 FUN auction, and makes comments on the prices paid for selected pieces. The Carson City Coin Collectors of America is a non-profit club incorporated in the state of Nevada. It is open to any member in good standing seeking to share and receive information about the Carson City Mint and the coins produced there. Dues are $30 a year, which includes a three-issue subscription to Curry’s Chronicle.
