Connecticut Oracle User Group (CTOUG) Launched in Hartford

Keynote features international expert Oracle Certified Master DBA

HARTFORD, Conn. - March 3, 2014 - PRLog -- On Wednesday, Feb. 19 over 25 IT database professionals gathered at the Marriott Hartford Farmington for the inaugural meeting of the Connecticut Oracle User Group (CTOUG).

The meeting featured keynote speaker John Watson, Skillbuilders' Director of Oracle Database services, an internationally known Oracle Certified Master DBA, who traveled from Oxford, England to address the group. Highlights from his discussion included Oracle Database 12c new features and general enhancements for both developers and database administrators.

The CTOUG’s mission is to enhance and improve Oracle IT professionals access to leading technology speakers: including Oracle experts, gurus and book authors. It also provides professional peer-to-peer exchange opportunities and lively discussion topics. “It’s a great opportunity to have a major IT manufacturer user group here in Connecticut,” said Abeje Woldie, Senior Oracle DBA, “As an Oracle database administrator, I want to have the most up to date information at my fingertips in order to be able to operate and meet our IT datacenter goals and CTOUG will help me do that.”

The next CTOUG meeting will be held in late May or early June at The Hartford Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut from 4-6pm. Topics discussed will include multi-tenancy and new features of Oracle 12c.
